Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden 2016

In January 2016, 39 Velocity members travelled to Sweden for the annual trip. Traveling with British Airways from Heathrow Airport, we arrived in Gothenburg Airport on the morning of the 28th. Gothenburg is a fantastic city for transport and culture, based around one of Europe’s largest ports and home to automotive giant Volvo. Many members enjoyed a tour of Volvo’s factory, Gothenburg Airport, and even the Aeroseum - a military aviation museum set in a cold war bunker.

On Saturday, we took a scenic train journey with MTR Express on brand new intercity trains, through the lakes and mountains, to Stockholm - our first twin city trip! For the final night we stayed in the "Jumbo Hostel" - a modern hotel inside of a Boeing 747 once owned by Pan American World Airways. We returned to Heathrow from Stockholm, again with British Airways, and were back ready for Semester 2 - scroll through the pictures below to see what we got up to!
